Dharmapuri District Co-Operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd

This Union is providing veterinary health cover, Artificial Insemination facilities and other input services to all societies such as attending regular input services and emergency calls emergency-calls, eradication of  contagious diseases like FMD, (Foot and Mouth Disease) supply of Cattle feed and fodder with a aim to motivate the producers to enhance the milk production. Further, the Union is    implementing Progeny testing scheme The aim of this scheme is to identify the bulls which can produce high yielding heifers. The semen of the identified bulls will be utilized in regular Artificial Insemination Program.  Another scheme implemented by the Union is Calf Rearing Scheme. The objective of the this scheme is to help the small farmers and agricultural laborers owning cross bred heifer to rear them without difficulty till the stage of yielding. This will ensure that calves are brought to maturity at the correct age and calving to tap the gull genetic potential. Calf rearing scheme will not only help the poor farmers to improve their economy but also helps the Union to enhance milk production in the long run.
